Pigeon Forge has only been an incorporated community for a few decades, but its history can be traced back much further than that. One of the city's true landmarks, The Old Mill & General Store, stands as a testimony to the fact that folks were calling Pigeon Forge home a long, long time ago. This historic structure has been operating on the banks of the Little Pigeon River since 1830.

Located just a few miles from our zip lines in Pigeon Forge, TN, The Old Mill, with help of its giant waterwheel, continue to grind out flour and meal just as it did nearly two centuries ago. The site also sells its authentic stone-ground products as well as soups, sauces, candies, souvenirs and much more.

Next door to The Old Mill, you can sit down to the authentic Southern cuisine of The Old Mill Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Many of the dishes even incorporate products ground at the mill.

Located across the street from the mill and restaurant are the shops of The Old Mill Square, where the traditions and folkways of yesterday have also been preserved for the benefit of Smoky Mountain visitors. You can purchase authentic handmade crafts at Pigeon River Pottery or sit down for a relaxed meal at the Pottery House Café & Grille. You'll enjoy the sweet flavors of both the Creamery and Candy Kitchen, or you could do more shopping at the Toy Bin or Farmhouse Kitchen.
