Right now, there aren't many opportunities to get out and do any ziplining in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge or Sevierville, but that doesn't mean you still can't have some fun with the family on your weekend getaway or vacation in the Great Smoky Mountains.
In fact, one of the most popular tourist stops in the Smokies, the Titanic Museum Attraction, is unveiling a brand new exhibit. Beginning January 17, the Pigeon Forge attraction is displaying a collection of personal artifacts owned by Titanic passenger Margaret Brown, better known as the Unsinkable Molly Brown.
Brown's bigger-than-life personality has inspired movies, books, operas and Broadway musicals, and now Titanic Museum Attraction guests can get a firsthand look at many of the artifacts that played a part in her real-life story, including personal belongings, private papers and other cherished possessions. Specific items include dresses, a deck chair, plates and silverware.
On February 14 and 15, Titanic guests will be able to meet Helen Benzinger, who is the great-granddaughter of Molly Brown. Ms. Benzinger is the appointed guardian and caretaker of this collection and will also spend part of her visit separating fact from fiction when it comes to her famed ancestor.
