Electronically assisted bicycles have been one of the great new leisure trends of the past few years. They allow you to enjoy the exercise aspects of riding a bike, but the small electric motors on board will help out when the peddling get challenging. This vendor is located on the back side of Pigeon Forge Factory Outlet Mall. They offer rentals for periods of one, two, three or four hours. It's a fun way to burn some calories and see the sights of the city at the same time.
The creators of Crave Golf Club in Pigeon Forge are back with yet another mini-golf attraction. Scheduled to open this summer, The Sky Pirates of Mermaid Bay is an epic golf adventure that will pit putters against each other in an immersive experience that ranges from the depths of the seas to the clouds above Mermaid Bay. There's an 18-hole, indoor, Under the Sea course and an 18-hole, rooftop, Sky Pirate course as well as a candy store and other concessions. Find the hidden doubloons to lower your final score, but watch out for the monstrous Kraken!
This new attraction is already up and running in Sevierville. It combines a lot of fun vacation elements in one location, including gorgeous views, rides, shops and eateries, live entertainment, miniature animals and more. This $40 million entertainment venue is on a 100-acre farm and offers something for all ages. The journey begins with a scenic chairlift ride that serves up views of downtown Sevierville and the Great Smoky Mountains. At the top of the attraction, you'll find shops, food vendors, entertainment areas and more. Also look for The Wild Stallion, the longest mountain coaster in the Southeast.
Many of you long-time visitors to the Smokies will remember Memories Theater and its many musical-tribute performances, most notably the Elvis Presley tribute artists. The theater was closed for a while, but now it's back in business with a lineup of shows that again honors some of the biggest legends in music history - Elvis, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline and more.
It won't be much longer before this unique attraction makes its debut in Sevierville. Designed for kids of all ages (including grown-ups), this theme park allows guests to operate real construction equipment in a safe environment. More than 25 attractions such as excavators, skid-steers, rollers, forklifts and loaders are spread out over the park's 27 acres. Scheduled to open this spring, Dig'n Zone Theme Park will feature a central green area capable of hosting events like concerts, school group performances, corporate events and more. Also look for special events during Halloween and Christmas.
Beyond the Lens is an established Pigeon Forge attraction, but this year, they've already introduced a new experience for visitors - Flyride. This attraction creates the immersive feeling of flight as you soar above 22 national landmarks. Full-motion seats, wind, mist and other effects contribute to the sensation.
And believe it or not, we still haven't exhausted our list of new businesses coming to the Smokies in 2023. Check back with us next week as we wrap up our preview.
